The Peach State Button Club was organized in 2000. The purpose of this organization is to promote the study of antique, vintage, and modern clothing buttons and, thereby, increase the appreciation of their art, beauty, craftsmanship, and history.

By collecting, classifying, and mounting buttons for pleasure, education, and competition purposes, it is hoped that the membership will learn more about and better enjoy this fascinating hobby.

Our membership is comprised of a wide range of age, ethnic, and work backgrounds. However the common ground for all members is the love of buttons. We seek to involve new people in this interesting hobby including those that may have a past exposure to button collecting, those who have had stashes of buttons handed down from ancestors, and those who can envision the pleasure of the hobby and the camaraderie of others with like interests. We especially seek younger participants who will provide the future stewardship for the knowledge and collections of buttons.

The Peach State Button Club cooperates with the National Button Society (NBS). The NBS has a membership of over 3000 people including about 160 junior members. We use the Official National Button Society Classification System for organizational purposes and for competitions.
